Meeting at the Testbed for Industry 4.0, CTU in Prague

On 10 May 2022, the FactoRISII teams of STUBA and CIIRC CTU learning factories met in the Testbed for Industry 4.0, which is located in the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics Czech Technical University in Prague. The whole day meeting was focused on the discussion on the Prague testbed involvement in the modular demonstrator as well as on joint learning path definition.

The conclusion on next steps resulted in two learning paths that will focus on high and low frequency machine tool data monitoring and analysis. Process monitoring will be provided through direct and indirect signal measurement. As for the low frequency data, the live example of OPC-UA communication SIDAS UI solution will be replicated in the STUBA Learning Factory in Bratislava.

Moreover, both teams used the opportunity to share best practice based on rich experience from the previous EIT Manufacturing projects. The practical aspects of the digital learning content created within FactoRISII were found to be of crutial importance.

The Testbed for Industry 4.0 at CIIRC CTU is a new research and experimental workplace for testing innovative solutions and processes for smart factories. The basis is a flexible production line for concurrent productionof several product types in a series of variants. It combines different technologies as additive manufacturing, machining, robotic manipulation, intelligent conveyor systems, human-robot cooperation, automated warehousing and others. The purpose is to provide platform to evaluate the research outputs related to the Industry 4.0 aspects and to create scenarios that would demonstrate them in various domains. The lab is concurently used for learning and training activities.
